An 18-minute talk designed to inspire, engage, and raise more money for you.
Planned Parenthood sucks. They suck up government money and use it to perform abortions.
You, on the other hand, rock. You help women in their hour of deepest need and ask for nothing in return.
Beau Heyman
My 18-minute LIFE Talk utilizes the world-famous TED Talk model. It is short, engaging, and designed to illicit a response. Your audience will leave with an understanding of how your ministry impacts both your community and the world! Your supporters are the heroes in a LIFE Talk, and they will be inspired to give more to the ministry they love!
Most pro-life speakers have never been in the trenches. I have. I began working in the pregnancy center movement over twenty years ago and I run one of the most influential clinics in the country. I know exactly what it takes to save a baby from abortion. I know what it takes to minister to women who are pregnant and don’t want to be. I also know how to raise money before, during, and after events.
LIFE Talks are pro-life speeches that inspire, educate and raise more money for you, in just 18 minutes.
LIFE Talks are perfect for fundraising banquets, dinners, galas, and similar events. LIFE Talks connect the audience to the pregnancy center movement and help your supporters understand how profound an impact you have on the world.
Jessica Deese, Executive Director, Coastal Choices Women’s Clinic
Yes. TED Talks are famously limited to 18 minutes, however many of their talks are less than 5 (here is one of my all-time favorites if you need a laugh) The length of a talk is less important than the content it delivers. Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream speech” was only 17 minutes long. President Bush’s 9/11 speech was less than five, but it galvanized a nation in crisis. Sometimes less is more.
Yes. Over the past 20 years I have helped to plan and execute over 50 fundraising dinners, lunches, and breakfasts. I have been where you are. I have prayed that clients will show up and that their babies will be in a good mood. I have delivered the keynote. I have watched in horror as the speaker we hired crashed and burned. I have recruited table hosts, assigned seating to a thousand guests, and even chosen centerpieces—my least favorite thing in the world! My experience has taught me how to raise funds at events. I want to use my experience to help you.
My first job in pro-life ministry was teaching abstinence-until-marriage to middle and high school students. I delivered hundreds of speeches in public and private schools, often to sleepy, hostile audiences. I learned to win them over. I was promoted after a year and coached a team of educators to become effective public speakers. I now run First Care Women’s Clinic, one of the largest clinics in the country. I have a master’s degree in Christian Leadership from Liberty University, and a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Palm Beach Atlantic University. More importantly though, I have a gift for public speaking. I feel a little silly saying it, but here is no other way to describe it. God has given me the ability to communicate effectively with large groups. I want to use my gift to bring Him glory.
No, at least not in the way that Kirk Cameron or Tim Tebow are. I have become prominent in pregnancy center circles over the past few years. I have spoken at CareNet, Pre-Born, Samaritan Summit, and am regularly featured on Moody Radio South Florida. My clinic team and I have become well-known for our early adoption of telehealth, and for our willingness to share our strategy with anyone who asks.
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. A famous speaker like Tim Tebow (my all-time favorite football player) is going to draw a huge crowd, but sometimes the crowd will only be there to see him and not to support you. A lesser-known speaker probably won’t help you draw a crowd, but they can sometimes be more effective in raising support. Less than Tim Tebow! My goal is to remain economical so that even smaller centers can afford to have me speak. I have a big family and run a busy ministry full-time, so I only do a limited number of engagements a year. If you are interested in learning more click here to email me or call my office at 561-688-2163.
Definitely! Try and stop me 🙂 I love to share what I have learned from my decades of banquet and fundraising experience. Ultimately though, I work for you. I will do anything from simply showing up and speaking, to helping you prepare your Executive Directors to report, to giving you feedback on the giving card.
Yes, spend as little as you need to, but not so little that they look chintzy. No one ever gave more because they loved your centerpiece. Don’t make them so tall that people can’t easily look over them. Let people take them home at the end of the night.
I was born in Gainesville, Florida in the same hospital where my mother was born. While I only lived in Gainesville for a few years, I am a diehard Florida Gators fan; which explains all the Tim Tebow talk.
My parents were missionaries and as a child and teenager I was exposed to some of the poorest and most desperate places on the planet. My experiences overseas along with my deep Christian faith give me a unique perspective. While I never felt called to full-time church ministry, I always had a deep desire to serve God and others. This desire made me feel out-of-place in the secular world and landed me in the last place that I expected: in Christian, pregnancy center ministry.
People always want to know how I wound up running a “women’s ministry”. I tell them that it isn’t a women’s ministry, but a ministry to women. Zero percent of whom, got pregnant without a man. I work in pregnancy ministry because that is what God has called me to and equipped me for.
Those who know me well, tease me about the number of jobs I had before landing at First Care Women’s Clinic. I was a restaurant host, janitor, public relations professional, stocked car parts at a giant warehouse, ran the back office of a cell phone store, parked cars as a valet at a five-star resort, sold jewelry, vacuum cleaners (for two miserable weeks) and used cars. This is the short list.
I loved working all these different jobs because of the people that I met and the skills that I learned. I relished being called “college boy” at the parts warehouse. I enjoyed working as an airport janitor with a guy who wore a tracking bracelet, who was under house arrest for punching someone in a bar. I learned that selling was a skill that could be acquired and that you didn’t have to be disreputable to be successful. I learned to get along with people no matter their lot in life.
Now I love being an Executive Director. I love helping other clinics learn and grow. I love asking for donations, even though it still makes me nervous sometimes. I love that I get to save lives and share the good news of Jesus!
And I would love to get to know you, and if it helps you, speak at your event.

If Vertafore is the contracting party, we require these third parties to keep Personal Information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
If you are the contracting party, it is your responsibility to understand the purpose for the transfer and ensure that the third party is managing the Personal Information it receives according to your direction.

If we have sent you a promotional email, please use the above 2 methods and do not send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions as the sending email address might not be able to accept incoming email. This opt out does not apply to Personal Information provided to Vertafore as a result of a product purchase, warranty registration, product service experience or other transactions.

We may deny your deletion request if retaining the Personal Information is necessary for us or our third-party service provider(s) to:

We consider requests made through your password protected account sufficiently verified when the request relates to Personal Information associated with that specific account.
We will only use Personal Information provided in a verifiable request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.
Response Timing and Format
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to ninety (90) days in total), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
We will deliver our written response to the email address identified on your account with us.
Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your Personal Information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the Personal Information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
We will charge a fee for professional services to respond to a request that could have been handled without direct Vertafore involvement (meaning by a user of the Vertafore Solutions(s)).
